Harold Atcheson

ATCHESON – Harold W. went to be with Lord on Saturday July 2, 2011 at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK at 82 years of age.
Harold was the youngest of ten children born to William and Ida Atcheson. He came into this world on August 17, 1928 in Prince Albert, SK and grew up on the family homestead at Deer Ridge, SK where he thoroughly loved his horses, dogs and farm life.
In 1957 he graduated from Bethel Bible Institute in Saskatoon and then began pastoring at Winton, SK. It was there he met his first wife, Pearl (Fjeld), and their daughter Glenda was born. After several years in Winton they began ministering in Prince Albert and started the Pentecostal Lighthouse south of town which later moved to the west flat. He lived his life working for the Lord and loving people.
After his wife, Pearl, passed away in 1981, he met Jane Douglas and married her in 1983. They continued to minister in Prince Albert and also Mexico, Texas and Kenya.
Harold is lovingly remembered for his easy-going nature, playing his guitar and harmonica, preaching and his love for people of all races and languages.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Pearl (nee Fjeld); his parents; and the following siblings: Pearl Alford, Clarence Atcheson, Edna Thorsen, Ernest Atcheson, Margrette Shmilar, Edith Vezeau and Helen Potter, as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jane of Prince Albert; daughter Glenda Atcheson of Texas; brother William (Bill) Atcheson of Chase, BC; sister Marie Thompson of Prince Albert, SK; his stepsons Craige Douglas, Dan (Charlotte) Douglas, and Jack (Dolores) Douglas all of Saskatoon, SK, and Don (Judy) Douglas of Louisiana; nine grandchildren – Jeff and Barry Vining, Dr. Julie Smith, Ryan, Danielle, Carma, Kelsee, Hugh and Lauren Douglas; nine great grandchildren, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Northern Funeral Service, MacKenzie Chapel, 130 – 9th St E, Prince Albert, SK.
