Gregory Cochet
1959 – 2025
Greg Cochet passed away peacefully and with his family by his side on August 28, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Irene; his son, Mark Cochet (Nina Lim) and grandson, Ven Jost Lim; his son, Scott (Sarah) Cochet and grandchildren, Colter and Blake; his daughter, Elise (Braydon) Potter and grandsons, Bennett and Stetson; his siblings, Judy Deroose, Doris (Emile) Hounjet, and Paul (Cecile) Cochet and their families; sister in law, Jackie Cochet and her daughter, Sheena Cochet; along with numerous extended family and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Berchmans “Berk” and Luella Cochet; and his brothers, Edward and Albert.
Greg was born on March 18, 1959 and was raised on the family farm in the St. Louis area, where he remained until his passing. He loved the farm, only leaving the area briefly to take agricultural mechanics at the Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon. He later married the love of his life, Irene. Together they raised their three children on the same family farm where Greg and his siblings had grown up. Greg had a passion for the outdoors, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. He loved time spent at the lake, and on various road trips- often listening to John Gormley or News Talk radio to keep current on politics and other current events.
His beloved wife of almost 43 years, his children, and his grandchildren were his greatest joy and blessings. Greg truly cherished the time spent with those he loved. His devotion to his family and faith, and his particular sense of humour and wit will be cherished and dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Greg spent a lot of time in the BMT unit at RUH under great care.
