WAIT- Gladys Irene
Gladys passed away quietly on Sun. June 5, 2011 at the Melfort Hospital. Born near Coronach to Dwight & Annie (Berg) Willford. Gladys and her family came by covered wagon and mules to Red Deer Hill in 1932. The following year they came to Waitville and lived amongst the extended Willford families. Mom attended Waitville School and schools in Saskatoon during the war. Following her Dad’s release from the Army, the family came back to Waitville where she met and married Sanford Wait August 17, 1946. They farmed at Waitville nearly all their married life. When Dad passed away in 1983, Mom moved into Birch Hills where she remained until a fall in June 2010 necessitated her move to Bev’s Care Home in Kinistino.
Predeceased by her husband; her parents; her siblings; several nieces and a nephew. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (favorite son-in-law Harvey) Messner of Moose Jaw; Bryan and Norman (Bonnie) of Birch Hills. She was the proud Nana of David (Jennifer) Messner, Jesse and Jacob of Yorkton, Aaron Messner of Saskatoon, Andrew Messner of Moose Jaw and Dustin Tilsley of Prince Albert.
Private Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 9th with Interment at the Centenary Methodist Cemetery south of Birch Hills. Flowers gratefully declined. Anyone wishing may make a donation to the charity of their choice.
