Our dearly loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Gladys Ivy Kernohan passed away on November 15, 2016 in Saskatoon. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Norman Kernohan in 2005. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gladys was born in Southampton, England on December 18, 1920. A young woman at the start of WWII, she joined the Women’s Land Army which resulted in a life-long love of living in the countryside. She married Norman near the end of the war and came to Canada as a war bride to meet her in-laws while Norman remained in Europe. Gladys was multi-talented: she was an excellent seamstress, knitted beautiful items with complex patterns, created intricate designs as a cake decorator, and enjoyed making many crafts. She was an avid reader, enjoying a variety of topics. Mum left us with many wonderful family memories. Being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother gave her much joy.
