Germaine Marie Jeanne Koivisto
February 1, 1925 – October 27, 2012

KOIVISTO, Germaine (nee Parent) passed peacefully away on October 27, 2012 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert with her family by her side. Germaine was born February 01, 1925 in Hoey, SK. She grew up on the Parent family farm before attending Normal School to become a teacher. She taught at White Star and Cloverdale before marrying Dad and becoming a full-time wife and mother. Once her children were grown she worked at The Forest Nursery, and after retirement she worked part-time at Nutter’s Foods. She is lovingly remembered by her children Victor (Kathleen), Glenn (Cathy), Darryl (Patti) and Karen; grandchildren Taylor (Tracy), Tara (Ryan Thurstan), Kayla, Justin, Dylan and Alyssa; great grandchildren Derek, Jayde and Myles, Kaylab, Savannah and Devin. She is also survived by her brother Alfred and sister Ida Studer, as well as numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces. Mom was predeceased by her husband Veikko in 2006; parents Octave and Mary; siblings Leon, Rose, Claire, Isabel, Edward, Blanche, Bertha and Gilbert. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Victoria Hospital, Level 5 or Charity of Donor’s Choice.
