GERARD ROY
1923 – 2011
With heavy hearts we say goodbye to a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gerard Roy passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Villas at the age of 88 years. Gerard was born in Vonda, SK on January 9, 1923. His parents moved to Domremy/Bellevue area soon after his birth. He grew up in a very loving devout Catholic family, which influenced the ideals he instilled in all of us. He married Yvette Langlois on October 30, 1944 and devoted his life to her and his family. Gerard was warm hearted. He loved his family especially the grandchildren. He farmed all his life in the Domremy District, retiring to Prince Albert in 1998. He loved to garden, play cards, sing and visit with family and friends. He always had a story to tell. Gerard was predeceased by a daughter Cecile; his parents Hudor and Florida; his brother Henri; his 5 sisters Candide, Marguerite, Louise, Simone and Jeanne. Dad will be missed by his wife of 66 years Yvette; daughter Emma (Clement); son Paul (Connie); grandchildren Victor (Maureen), Marc (Margaret), Sheri (Blaine), Noel, Christopher, Sheena (Dana), Terri, Robin, Leslie (Duane); great-grandchildren Skye, Joanne, Stacey, Christine, Payton, Kealie, Abbie, Kohlby, Jordyn; three brothers Matt, Andy (Emilienne), Denis. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, from Sacred Heart Cathedral -1401 – 4th Avenue West – by Father Maurice Fiolleau. Interment will take place in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross of Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Don Moriarty – Funeral Director
