(February 13, 1924 ~ August 9, 2011)
Chevrier, Gerard “Jerry”- late of Prince Albert, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Claire; his children Hélène (Morris) Fontaine of Calgary and their daughters Chantale and Ginette; Suzanne (Dietmar) Bartel of Regina and their children Julian and Danielle; Paul (Tammy) Chevrier of Little Bear Lake and their children, Amanda, Sabrina, Avary, Zachary; Giselle (Mark) Ruest of Red Deer and their children Madison and Alex. He is survived by one sister Cécile Boucher of Clarkton, MI, USA.
Jerry was predeceased by his mother, Marie Reine (Guenette); his father, Napoleon; his sister Pauline Goodwin of Westland, MI USA; and his brothers Jean-Paul Chevrier of Gravelbourg, Ubald Chevrier of Gravelbourg, Fernand Chevrier of Assiniboia, and Louis Chevrier.
Farming was Jerry’s passion. He farmed in Arborfield for over 35 years. He later retired in Nipawin where he lived for 20 years and then moved to Prince Albert in 2002.
Prayers will be held on Friday, August 12th at 7:30 p.m. at Northern Funeral Service – MacKenzie Chapel, 130 9th St. E., Prince Albert. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260-25th St. E. Prince Albert with Father Roque Concepcion officiating. Memorial tributes in memory of Jerry can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or the Saskatchewan Children’s Hospital Foundation.
