A Life Well Lived
Gerald was born in Leoville and raised in Chitek Lake, SK, where he completed his schooling. He later earned his Electrical Journeyman certificate from Moose Jaw Technical Institute, beginning a long and dedicated career in his trade. He worked at Key Lake Mine and at Prince Albert Paper Mill during its construction and later participated in dismantling the mill when it closed. His skills also took him abroad, completing three work tours in Mexico. He was once offered an opportunity in Argentina but chose marriage instead—one of the many decisions that shaped his rich and meaningful life. Together with Jeanne, Gerald embraced travel, exploring places such as the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Arizona, and enjoying scenic train excursions across Canada.
From 2006 to 2017, Gerald served as an Electrical Instructor at SIAST in Prince Albert, SK, where he shared not only his knowledge but his patience, humor, and mentorship.
Retirement at Its Best
Upon retirement, Gerald declared it his favorite job of all. He spent his days at his cherished haven, their trailer at Candle Lake, SK. A place that brought him peace, joy, and endless laughter. He filled his time playing cards, quadding, bike riding, hot tubbing, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life with Jeanne by his side.
Gerald will be remembered for his warmth, his easy smile, his love for adventure, and the deep affection he held for his family. His spirit will be carried forward in every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every moment spent at the lake he loved so much.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Plaza 88, 888 Central Ave, Prince Albert, SK.
