Gerald (Gerry) Dougan
May 5, 1930 – January 14, 2015
Gerry passed away on January 14, 2015 at the age of 84 at Emma Lake, SK. Gerry was predeceased by his wife,Ileene; parents, Eugenie Anna
(Marcelin) and William Burton; sister, Kathleen (Lloyd); and brothers, Fred (Nancy), Tony and Donny. Gerry is survived by his dear companion, Gwen; sisters, Marion (Arnold) and Alice; brothers, Richard (Laurie) and Burt; sister-in-law, Marguerite; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry was born and raised in Marcelin, SK, and later moved to Saskatoon where he spent his entire career at CN. After Gerry retired, he split his time between Emma Lake and Saskatoon, but eventually moved to the lake full-time in 2005. Gerry loved the lake life. He enjoyed puttering around the cabin, visiting with family and friends, and playing cards, particularly the game 65. Gerry also loved animals. In the winter, he always put out feed for deer and other animals in the area, including a fox that visited him regularly. Gerry had a great sense of humour. He was quick witted, full of one-liners and liked to banter, which always made for a good laugh. Gerry was fortunate enough to live at the place he loved the most right till the end. He will be missed dearly. A private celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at a later date.
