For those family and friends who were unable to attend Gerry’s Funeral Service, the family has provided a video link below of the service:
Gerald passed away peacefully at Parkland Integrated Health Centre Long Term Care in Shellbrook, on August 9, 2026.
Gerald was born on March 23, 1933, to his parents Willis and Lilly Clark in Maxville, ON. He lived in a number of communities in eastern Ontario before settling in Jellyby. In 1953, he moved to Smiths Falls, where he worked for Rideau Motors and other local businesses. He married Della Hazelwood in 1955 and raised 5 boys.
In 1980, Gerald and Della moved to a farm in the Ordale area, west of Shellbrook, SK, where some of his children and grandchildren live. He delivered flowers and worked the Sears counter in the flower shop for a number of years before retiring. After Della’s passing, he moved to Shellbrook. Since having a stroke in August 2024, Gerald has been hospitalized and in long-term care. Lasting memories remain with his children: Albert Clark of Shellbrook, SK; Ian (Barb) Clark of Shellbrook, SK; Alvin (Lisa) Clark of Edmonton, AB; Stephen (Anna) Clark of Parkside, SK; David (Dawn) Clark of Entwistle, AB. Gerald’s grandchildren are Mindy (Phil) Cobb, Chad (Mardell) Clark, Blaize Clark, Tineille (Grant) Lavoie, Shanae Clark, Meghan (Aaron) Bryant, Alyssa (Graham) MacDonald, Breanna (Christian) Johnston, Kelsey (Zachary) Goodsman, Ashleigh (Jeff) McNary, Brittany (James) Atkins, Cheyenne Clark (Iain), Denver Clark (Ryan), and great grandchildren: Blythe, Layne, Shayla, Trystan, Crick, Chayton, Tariq, Taneeka, Kotéja, Katrinka, Brogan, Keiten, Quiran, Caiden, Kiteara, Quianna, Cailynn, Kuriyah, Twila, Heidi, Logan, Autumn, Isla, Annie, Marley, Knox, Elianna, Cohen, Rory, Della, Hazel, Evelyn, Kameron, Amelie, and Gabriel. Gerald was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Della, his parents Willis and Lily, his brother Bryce, sister in law Irene, two loving grandchildren Kyla & Heidi and two granddaughters in Law Lindsey & Nathanaelle.
Gerald made his choice to serve God in his teens. His life revolved around this choice and he put forth great effort to be in fellowship with those who had the same desire. He had a good singing voice and loved to sing hymns together.
Gerald’s family wish to express our gratefulness for the quality of care and compassion that he received in “House C” Long Term Care, Parkland Integrated Health Centre.
There will be a Funeral Service held for Gerry on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. from the Canwood Community Elks Hall in Canwood, SK. There will be a time of refreshments and fellowship following the service.
