He graduated from Mount Royal Collegiate and finally settled in Prince Albert where he began his career as a guard for the Saskatchewan Penitentiary. After twenty six and half years of service Gerry retired in 1997. He was also a long time member of the Prince Albert Elks Club. In 2001 Gerry moved to Regina, two years later in 2003 he met Esther and they were married in January of 2006. During his retirement Gerry and Esther enjoyed taking trips; he loved house and yard projects and always had one on the go. In his spare time he loved golfing and more golfing. Gerry is survived by his loving wife Esther (nee Parenteau); daughter Lisa and her children Justin, Devin and Amanda; son Brian and his daughter Sydney; son Brad (Erin) and their children Alysha and Casandra; mother Thelma; brother Dennis (Brenda) and their children Ian and Kiley; mother and father-in-law Arsene and May Parenteau; as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, many friends as well as his two companions Wilson and Winnie.
