Gerald Boyle was born in 1927 on the family farm at Kinistino, Saskatchewan. He spent many years farming on land next door to his place of birth. He was 93 years old when he passed away in Saskatoon June 20th, 2020. Gerald was predeceased by his wife Faye Boyle in 2019. He is survived by his children, Alan (Ruth) Boyle, Burlington, ON; Patrick (Janice) Boyle, Kelowna, BC; Murray (Valerie) Boyle, Saskatoon, SK; and Mary Ellen (Peter) Longarini, Kingston, ON. Gerald was an avid hockey player and coached and mentored minor hockey players and the Kinistino Wheat Kings Senior hockey team for many years. He loved coaching and spending times with the hockey players which later became an entertaining source of wonderful stories and memories. Gerald met the love of his life, Faye in 1954 and were married in that same year. They were active members of their Catholic church and community. Gerald was a great dance partner for Faye and enjoyed many years with friends in Kinistino and area. They worked the land until they relocated to Prince Albert in 1998 and eventually Saskatoon in 2012. Gerald continued to love and help Faye as she struggled with Alzheimer’s in her last years. Gerald was loved by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Dana (Kiersten) Boyle and kids Takeo, and Kaori; Evan (Jen) Boyle and their kids Jayden and Jaxon; Meghan Boyle; Jeffrey (Tierney) Boyle; Laura Longarini (Navi) and their daughter Isla; Andrea Longarini; Matthew (Jackie) Boyle and their children Declan, Finley, and Camden; Jameson Boyle; Connor Boyle; and Kassidy Boyle. Gerald’s legacy will live on through people he touched. He made many people smile and his words left people inspired. He was a gentle and kind person and we will miss his tender and caring nature. His family finds peace in the fact that he is with the love of his life in heaven. May he and Faye be dancing and smiling while we miss them.
