September 12, 1948 – March 9, 2016

It is with heavy hearts and deepest regrets we announce the passing of Mr. Gary Mervin Wegner on Wednesday, March 9th 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was always a warm and welcoming face at the CN Rail Yard where he worked for 35 years, and later as a greeter at Wal-Mart. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife Mary; sons Daryld, Brian (Monica), Wayne (Shannon) and Jason; daughter Lindsey (Ron); grandchildren Kayla, Dakota, Ethan, Wayne, Isaiah, Naiomi, Talia, Raine, Carson, Soraya, Liam and Aubeni; siblings Donna (Fred) and Ross; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his son Lawrence; grandson James; brother Randy; and parents Ella and Walter.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12th 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Territorial Alliance Church, North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Interment will follow at the Saulteaux Cemetery, Saulteaux First Nation, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in Gary’s memory be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Saskatchewan Division, 1910 Mclntyre Street Regina, Saskatchewan S4P 2R3. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Martine de Bussac of Sallows & McDonald-Wilson & Zehner Funeral Home 306-445-2418.
