GARY ALLAN “BLUE BIRD” BALLANTYNE August 4, 1968 – November 3, 2014 Gary Ballantyne, age 46, beloved companion of Eliza Sewap of Pelican Narrows, SK passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Wake services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6 from River Park Memorial Chapel with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating and Thursday, November 6 at the home of Eliza Sewap and Friday, November 7 from the LAC Hall, Pelican Narrows.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8 from St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church by Father Susai Jesu. Gary is survived by his loving family: his parents Joseph and Marie Rose Ballantyne; his loving partner Shirley “Eliza” Sewap; his children Trevor, Jordon, Blaine, Vicky, Cohen, Crissy and Latecia; his grandchildren Tayven, Kellen, Jordona, Dumal, Blaise, Blaine Jr., Elaine, Sharilyn, Sierra-Lee; his special niece Stella Ballantyne; his special nephew Hunter Sewap; his sisters Audrey Charles, Stella McKay, Doreen (David) Linklater, Madeline (Willard) Ballantyne, Darla (Frankie) Thomas, Priscilla (David) Linklater, Janice (Henry) Sewap, May (Andrew) Michel, Martina (Justin) Burns, Margaret Custer; his brothers Martin (Margaret) Michel, George (Darlene) Michel, John (Shirley) Michel, Mark (Elizabeth) Michel, Floyd (Carla) Ballantyne, Jeffrey and Catherine, Dwayne (Marilyn) Michel, Lawrence (Toni) Ballantyne; his aunties Lorna (Bob) McCallum, Helen Michell, Darlene (Tony) Sewap, Harriette Jobb; his uncles Hubert (Eva) Ballantyne, Arthur Ballantyne, Armand Ballantyne, Philip Michel; his grandparents Harriette Merasty, George and Mary Ballantyne; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by: his adopted parents/grandparents Solomon and Eugenie Michel; his grandparents Peter and Angelique Ballantyne; his brothers Cameron and Roland Ballantyne; his nieces and nephews Camilla Ballantyne, Janita and Harison Sewap; his uncles and aunties Ovide Michel, Joe Michel (Christina), Sam Sewap (Caroline); his cousins Jean Caribou, Jonathan Michel, Justin Michel, Melvin Michel, Judy Caribou, Brian Michel, Kevin Michel, Peter Sewap, Mikayla Michel. Gary was born on August 4, 1968 in Flin Flon, MB. Interment will take place in the Moise Bear Memorial Gardens, Pelican Narrows.
