It is with heavy hearts that the family of Garry Stuart Wason, late of Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, announce his passing on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at Parkland Integrated Health Centre at the age of 60 years. Garry was born March 19, 1956 in Shellbrook to Jean and Stuart Wason. Garry worked at the Shellview Sod Farm for 3 years. He then went on to work for Shellbrook Chev Olds for 41 years. It was due to his illness that he had to quit his job, otherwise he would have still been working. Garry enjoyed doing many things such as camping, fishing, hunting, slow pitch, gardening, playing hockey and playing a money game at Christmas with all of his family. Garry loved dogs and had just got Patch, who he had for only 9 months before he couldn’t talk anymore. Garry will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Debbie Kotyk, Keith (Kerri) Wason, Sherri (Darrel Lens) Wason, Scott (Richelle) Wason and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and cousins as well as his uncle, Earl Parks of Edmonton, Alberta and his aunt, Jo Falebrenza of Prince George, B.C. He will also be lovingly remembered by a very special friend and co-worker, Trish. Garry was predeceased by: his father, Stuart (Smoky) Wason and his mother, Jean Wason; his sister, Margo Gouldhawke; his brother-in-law, Orest Kotyk; his uncles and aunts, Howard and Ethel Kennedy, Mansford and Vernal Kennedy, Harold Kennedy, Steve Falebrenza, and May Parks; his paternal grandparents, Amy and Harry Wason and his maternal grandparents Robert and Clara Kennedy. A celebration of life for Garry will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00PM from the Shellbrook Senior Centre with Myles Nagy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
