Ernest Garry Gear

September 29, 1934 – July 19, 2018

With great sadness but fond memories the family of Ernest Garry Gear announces that he passed away with his family at his side on July 19, 2018 at the age of 83. Garry was born on September 29, 1934 to Willard and Alga Gear at Weirdale, SK. 

Garry is survived by: his loving wife, Esther (nee: Unrau); his children; Kerry (Cindy) Gear and their family, daughter, Kendra Gear and her daughter, Stevie, Matthew (Lindsay) Reichle; Melanie (Lee) Glass; his siblings, Richard Gear and Ruby Pedersen; his sister-in-law, Gail Gear as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Garry is predeceased by: his parents, Willard “Bill” and Alga Gear; his brothers, Lester (Gertrude), Harold (Jean) and Roy Gear; his sisters, Helen (Ralph) Manning, Ruth (William “Bill) Albright, Flora (Allan) Berg, and Leone (Walter) Reichle; brother-in-law, Lloyd Pedersen; great niece, Kaila Berg and nephew, Eldon Amundson.

A memorial gathering for Garry will be held at 2:00pm on July 24, 2018 at the Shellbrook Senior Centre in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan with Murray Hannigan officiating. The eulogy will be presented by Marilyn Stearns. Lunch will follow immediately in the Shellbrook Senior Centre. Honorary pallbearers are all who knew and loved Garry. Private family interment will be at a later date. Donations in memory of Garry may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
