Garry A. Hrischuk

Our brother and uncle, Garry A. Hrischuk “Cabbage” passed away May 13, 2012 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Garry was born January 29, 1938 at Weirdale, SK to Nick and Sophie Hrischuk (nee Bondarenko). Garry grew up on the family farm near Foxford, SK. Garry worked in mining and forestry and later as the caretaker at the Meath Park curling and skating rinks. He also farmed in the Foxford area until he retired in 2009. Garry was predeceased his parents Nick and Sophie Hrischuk; brothers Lennerd Behersky, Lawrence, Lloyd and Eldon Hrischuk; sisters Evelyn Hintz and Rose Forrest; sister in law Ruby Hrischuk and brother-in-law Alvin Hintz. Garry will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Edward (Dorothy) Hrischuk, Mike (Kathy) Hrischuk; brother-in-law Lloyd Forrest; sisters-in-law Nellie Behersky, Anne and Norma Hrischuk; as well numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Garry will be greatly missed by his loyal companion Buddy. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
