It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Gail Agnew (née Zelenski), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and godmother, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and three children on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 74.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 56 years, Harvey; her daughter Lisa (Garth) Baxter and granddaughters Brianna, Kaylee and Megan of Newmarket, ON; son Todd (Raelynn) Agnew and grandchildren Taylor, Emma, Nicholas, and Nathan of Muskoday, SK; son Brent (Cyndi) Agnew and granddaughters Kennedee and Kassidee of South Lyon, Michigan, USA. Gail was raised on the farm near Birch Hills, SK and was swept off her feet at the age of 17 by a handsome young farm boy from nearby Fenton, SK. They were married in January 1965 and set up their first home in Saskatoon, SK. After the births of their 3 children they moved to Prince Albert, SK, where they lived until 1989. Gail and Harvey relocated to Calgary, AB and lived there until 2006 at which time they retired to Saskatoon, SK to be close to family and friends.
Mom had a passion for a good book (or hundreds of good books), regular conversations with family, game time with her children and grandchildren, bingo with her bestie, and countless birthday dinners with dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents William (Bill) and Alfea (Jean) Zelenski, and her parents-in-law Harold and Charlotte Agnew; her sister-in-law Audrey Zelenski; and brother-in-law and sisters-in law David and Lorraine Agnew and Lois Arp.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Royal University Hospital for the care and compassion they provided over Mom’s short stay.
