Full-time Temporary Teaching Position
for a Specialized Support Classroom
2024-2025
Prince Albert Catholic School invites applications for a full-time teaching position.
The successful candidate will work closely with the senior administration, school-based administrators, school-based student support services, and teachers at St. John Community School to support the implementation and actualization of the Specialized Support Classroom Pilot Project.
The teacher will be establishing a primary classroom, in consultation with the school division personnel, to provide specialized supports. The teacher will plan for students and work with other teachers to support student success in the homeroom classroom. A special focus on self-regulation strategies to support learning outcomes. The teacher will also be required to provide support in reading, writing, and math as it pertains to Ministry/School division targets. The Specialized Support Classroom Pilot Project will be under the supervision of the Superintendent of Education responsible for Student Support Services and the school-based administration.
Collaboration from time to time with Consultants and Coordinators and other School Division staff may be required. This role is also responsible for directly supporting small group of students and other classrooms at St. John Community School.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be committed a Catholic who willingly witness his/her faith to the school, parish and larger community
- Demonstrate an understanding and use of current instructional and assessment best practices
- Demonstrate understanding in strategies for specialized supports for classroom implementation
- Be a servant leader who demonstrates outstanding leadership abilities commensurate with the position responsibilities and evidenced by performance in past or present educational assignments
- Have excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous related experience an asset
