Fred Ballantyne was born on Monday, January 18, 1932, in Pelican Narrows, SK, and passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 89 years.

Fred is survived by his loving family, his wife of 68 years, Margaret Ballantyne; his children, Freda Charles, Rebecca (Louie), Lillian (Baptiste), Stephen Ballantyne, Russell (Genevieve), Marilyn (Dwayne), Franklin Ballantyne; his adopted son, Gordon (Beatrice) Custer; his grandchildren he raised, Darrell Charles, Randall Charles, Lance Linklater, Kirk (Penny); his sisters, Sophie Custer, Veronica Ballantyne; his in-laws, Cecilia Ballantyne, Hilda Cook; his numerous nieces and nephews; his 63 grandchildren, 153 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren; his Godchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, David & Louisa (nee McDonald) Ballantyne; his daughter, Jacqueline Custer; his sons, Frank Ballantyne, Johnstone Ballantyne, Douglas Ballantyne; his brothers & sisters, Lionel Ballantyne, Etienne “Steve” Ballantyne, Herriette Linklater-Highway, Marie Charlette, Annie Highway, Julianne Ballantyne; his in-laws, Moise Cook, Baptiste Cook, Jean Cook, Lazar Cook, Andrew Custer, Archie Custer; his nephews & nieces, Myra, Etienne Jr., Viola, Joe, Emile, Marie Alma, Henry, Veronica; his grandchildren, Thomas Jr. Charles, Nadine Linklater.

A Private Prayer Service will be held for Fred at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 11, 2021, family and friends unable to attend may view the service online at http://www.livememorialservices.com/Home/ServiceDetail/10662 . Private Wake and Funeral Services will also be held, with interment to follow at Moise Bear Memorial Gardens, in Pelican Narrows, SK.
