Frank Peter Uhlik, of Prince Albert, SK, passed away quietly on January 30, 2015 at the age of 90. Frank was born in Milkostc, Moravia, Czechoslovakia on September 1, 1924. Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather was loved and respected by family and friends and will be sadly missed. Frank was predeceased by his father Alex (Alois), his mother, Katherine, his brother Joseph and his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy. He is survived by his sisters: Lydia (Jerry) and Bessie; his children: Randy (Brenda), Laurie (Maurice), Sandra (Kevin) and Robert (Tracy); nine grandchildren: Scott (Sara), Shauna, Jared (Chrissy), Jana (Gord), Heather, Erin (Chad), Shane (Dawn), Candice, and Darcy (Teigan), nine great-grandchildren: Cody, Raine, Aiden, Shae-Lynne, Ross, Jax, Declan, Anniston and Rhys and many nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Czechoslovakia and traveled to Canada in 1927 at the age of 3. He settled with his family in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan which became home for the remainder of his life. Frank joined the Royal Canadian Navy in May 1943 and served our country until November 1945 during World War II. He spent those years on a ship called “The Groux” as a stoker. He married his wife Dorothy on June 29th, 1945. Together they raised four children. Frank was employed as an auto body technician until the age of 65. He loved to play cards, curl, and work outdoors. He also enjoyed countless hours with his children and grandchildren taking part in or watching sports and other activities in which they were involved.
