Frank Harris
1947 ~ 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Harris on November 18, 2025.
Born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Frank was the beloved son of Frank Sr. and Eileen Harris, and grew up surrounded by a close-knit family. He was one of five children, including his twin sister Chris and brothers Mike, Jamie, and Ron. Frank lost his father as a young man, an experience that helped shape his resilience and the deep appreciation he carried for family throughout his life.
In 1974, Frank married the love of his life, Donna, beginning a partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and shared adventures until her passing in 2018. Together, they built a life anchored in family, friendship, and community.
Frank built a long and respected career as an accountant, a profession he dedicated over 40 years to. His work was a source of pride, purpose, and many lifelong friendships. The relationships he formed throughout his career were among the most meaningful in his life.
Frank’s love for sports—especially golf—became a lifelong passion and he competed in numerous provincial championships and Lobstick tournaments at the junior, men’s and senior levels. Frank achieved a memorable milestone in 1972 when he won the Northern Golf Tournament at Cooke Municipal Golf Course. Over the years, he recorded eight hole-in-ones, including an unforgettable ace on the par four 17th hole in Waskesiu that he took great pleasure in telling his grandchildren about.
Frank was a dedicated citizen who gave generously of his time and talents. He volunteered with and served as president of the Prince Albert Golf & Curling Club, and served multiple active terms on Prince Albert City Council. Frank spearheaded the establishment of the Waskesiu golf course as a community owned not-for-profit organization in 1983. He also organized numerous Lobstick and “Walrus” golf tournaments. His commitment to helping others was a reflection of his character—steady, community-minded, and always willing to lend a hand. Frank was ultimately recognized by Cooke Municipal Golf Course, the Prince Albert Golf & Curling Club and Waskesiu Golf Club as a lifetime member for his service.
Frank enjoyed trips with Donna and other family and friends to Cabo San Lucas, Florida, Hawaii, Candle Lake, and especially Waskesiu, a place that held special meaning to him and his family dating back to his childhood. He was known for his quirky sense of humour and quick wit, his love of storytelling, and the many jokes that became a trademark of his personality and resulted in numerous nicknames – Dr. Golf, the “Walrus”, and Bundy to name a few.
Frank will be forever missed by his daughter, Kyla Radu (Chris) and grandchildren, Lachlan and Ainsley; his son, Devin (Robin) Harris and grandchildren, Liam and Blake; his brothers, Mike Harris and Jamie Harris (Amy Hadley); and his sister, Chris Harris (Merle Caley). He is also lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Shirley (Ted) Campbell, Sharon (Lance) Odegaard, and Bill (Pat) Tuttroen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Donna Harris; his parents, Frank Sr. and Eileen Harris; his father and mother-in-law, Edgar and Hazel Williams; his brother, Ron Harris; and his nephew, Marty Campbell.
Plans for a celebration of Frank’s life will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sask Sport, the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
