Frank Arcand
1951 – 2019
Frank was born on the family farm on November 5, 1951. He attended the Jackson Lake school until it closed and then went to Debden school. Frank played defense on the Debden Comets juvenile hockey team, but his real love was playing guitar. He started a band playing with many different local musicians. He was a perfectionist and wouldn’t quit trying until the tune sounded crystal clear.
Frank was a man of many talents and skills he worked in several different bush camps throughout the north. He was also a gifted welder, dry waller and construction worker. Frank was working as a logger in the Nipawin area where he met and married Jane Wiebe in 1974. This union produced two beautiful sons Jason and Blair. A lot of his adult life he spent entertaining wherever his work took him. His guitar playing, singing, and entertaining prowess was known by many.
Frank was an avid sports fan and never missed the Blue Jays games or his beloved Maple Leaf’s. He always said “maybe next year”. For the last nine years of his life, he enjoyed the constant caring and compassionate friendship of Laverne. Very much appreciated by the family.
