It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce our mother’s passing on November 10, 2011. Our mother at 96 years has gone to meet her husband after saying goodbye seventeen years ago and her son after nine years.
Our parents worked in Tregara, SK where they met and later married in Regina in 1936. In 1938 they moved to the Forest Gate District where they took up farming. All three of their children were born in the Paddockwood Red Cross hospital. In 1946 they moved six miles south of the homestead and farmed until the death of her husband; in 1996 she moved to Northcote Manor.
She is survived by a daughter Louise Kasko of Henribourg and her two children, Monica (Phil) Chester and Rhonda Kasko; a daughter Colleen Devine of Ontario and her son Jay (Karen) Devine, a daughter-in-law Violet Nolan and her six children, Greg (Florence) Nolan, Gwen (Larry) Marsh, Ruth (Gerald) Yousie, Rick (Tammy) Nolan, Joanne (Brent) Lafleur, Joan (Brian) Carrier, and a brother Howard Andrews; as well as numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband G. Edward Nolan; her son Gene “Buck” Nolan; sons-in-law Stan Kasko and Jeff Devine; a brother Ross Andrews; sisters-in-law Ileen Andrews and Florence Andrews. She will be missed by family, friends and her bowling and cribbage friends.
