France Tremblay-Franc
May 20, 1960 – March 30, 2026
France Tremblay-Franc of Prince Albert, passed away on March 30, 2026, surrounded by family at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
France was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2024. Her prognosis held little hope for recovery, much less survival. Yet, she was determined to leave this life when she decided. Those left to mourn the loss of France are grateful for her demonstration of courage and acceptance of life’s difficult challenges.
France was born to Madeleine Dufour and Andrey Tremblay on May 20, 1960, in Chicoutimi, Quebec. She was the older sister to Pascal and Stephane. Her education included Ecole Secondaire Charles-Gravel and the University of Quebec.
Extreme pride of her French heritage took France to Yellowknife where she worked for the French Society of Women Later, she moved to Prince Albert to continue her work for the French Society. In 1992, France was employed by Service Canada; she retired on June 13, 2020.
France’s first encounter with Jonathan was at Purple Sands beach at Candle Lake. The young mademoiselle was on vacation when she decided to strike up a conversation with an unknown handsome man. Not long after this life changing incident it was Manon (France’s future Maid of Honor) who introduced “Mr. Franc to Miss France”. The rest is history.
France married the love of her life, Jonathan Franc on June 30, 1994. Together they raised Paris and Nicholas. France was a devoted wife, mother, and strong advocate for the disabled. Despite not having experience, France (with Jonathan’s help) tackled her desire to produce a garden. She soon discovered that the flowers, veggies, cherry trees and the humming bees all gave her an immense joy. When it wasn’t time for digging in the dirt, France taught piano lessons, took time to travel, attended live concerts and did photography. Perhaps her ultimate pleasure was shopping; Amazon has lost one of its biggest fans.
France is survived by her husband, Jonathan and their children, Paris and Nicholas; her daughter, Genevieve Cloutier (Daniel Labrie); her granddaughters, Olivia Labrie and Alyssa Labrie; her mother, Madeleine Dufour; her brothers, Pascal Tremblay (Michelle Fortin), and Stephane Tremblay (Kathy Pelletier); her nieces and nephews, Roxane, Nathanael, Jeremy, Lucas and Emile Tremblay; her sisters-in-law, Linda Franc-Vickers (Brian), Jo-Anne Franc (Les Erikson), Jackie Ackerman (Keith); her brother-in-law, Barton Franc; nephews and niece, Joshua, Dylan and Simon Erikson; Derek and Lindsey Ackerman.
France was predeceased by her father, Andre Tremblay; and her in-laws, Stanley and Martha Franc.
In keeping with France’s requests, she has been cremated; and a Graveside Service will take place at a later date.
