Forbes Gibb

It is with great sadness that the Gibb family announces the passing of a loving, caring and all around great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Forbes Gordon “Gordie” Gibb passed away at the age of 65 years. Gordie was born in Prince Albert, SK, on May 12, 1953 and passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018 at home in Prince Albert.
He was predeceased by his parents: Gordon and Kathleen Gibb: his brother: Gary Gibb; his in-laws: Fred and Florence Sorenson; his brothers-in-law: Sam Sorenson and Rodney Krein; his niece: Kimberly Sorenson; and his nephew: Michael Krein. He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by: his wife: Pat Gibb; his children: Jason (Dale Anne) Gibb of Prince Albert, William (Lisa) Gibb of Aberdeen, and Laurie (Jeff) Nygren of Prince Albert; his grandchildren: Kianna and Amber, Haley and Kelsea Gibb and Alicia, Jaden and Kenzie Nygren; his great-grandchildren: Zaylee and William Gibb; his brother: Rick (Barb) Gibb; his sister: Gloria (Lyn) Halsall; his in-laws: Les (Deb) Sorenson of Nipawin, Donna (Jim) Starner of Dalmeny, Sid (Linda) Sorenson of Prince Albert, Loreen Krein of Leader and Leanne (Brent) Vansil of Prince Albert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordie was raised in Prince Albert and graduated from Carlton Comprehensive High School. After high school, Gordie married his sweetheart, Pat Sorenson, on June 30th, 1972. Gordie worked at the Coop lumber yard and then drove fuel truck for Coop from 1972 – 1983. Gordie then worked at Saskatchewan Penitentiary and RPC from 1983 until his retirement as Correctional Manager in 2010. Gordie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included hunting and fishing and some of his favorite times were spent on fishing trips with his sons and friends. However, his most favorite times were always spent with Pat, his wife of 46 years. They spent time camping, travelling and visiting with family.
At Gordie’s request no service will be held. The family would like to thank Dr. Grobler in Prince Albert and Dr. Schellenberg and her team at City Hospital in Saskatoon.
