Florence McLennan-Basaraba

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful Mother Florence McLennan-Basaraba on November 23, 2021 at the age of 81 years old surrounded by her family. She was born on June 16, 1940.
Florence had a good life, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh and make jokes. She was proud of each of of her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. Florence was a proud Metis Elder, and she made sure that she was involved in the community. She enjoyed going to Batoche days and was sad to have missed out this past September. Florence worked hard throughout her life, but never complained. She lost her eye to cancer in 1982. She continued to work, drive and go on with her life. She had many friends and acquaintance that she met working with the public at such jobs as PO café, BURNS foods, Bargain Corner, West view Shop Rite and MOHAWK where she worked until her retirement. She lived with her daughter Sherry until her passing, where she enjoyed company, and phone calls from her many friends.
She was most recently blessed with the birth of her twin great grandchildren Everly and Paisley.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherry Mclennan and her children Brendan, Kreedan, Rihanna (her son Trayden) and Zeanna McLennan; her daughter, Tracy (Armand Lussier) and their children Candace and Brady (Brianna) Lussier of Edmonton, AB; her son, Billy (Lyndsay) McLennan and children Brandon, Justin (Alexia) Noah (and daughter Savannah) of Calgary, AB, Brittanny (Troy) Carter (and their twins Everly and Paisley), Brianne, Jaelyn, Parker, and Samantha; her 2 step children Connie (Rick) Cochet and Todd (Connie ) Basaraba; her brother Larry (Brenda) Vandale and their family; her brother-in-law (Emile Piche); her sister-in-law Doris (Denis) Brisbois; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Rose Vandale; 2 brothers, Octava at infancy, and John; her sister, Blanche (Piche); her husbands Jerry McLennan and Edward Basaraba; and many friends and family who have went on before her.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Sacred Heart Cathedral – 1401 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK.
