Florence Kathleen “Kathy” MacIver
February 27, 1928 – April 11, 2014
Rejoicing in the life of Kathy and with a sense of loss we say farewell. Our love for her will not die, we will miss her physical presence, vitality and her loving acceptance of us all. Kathy could make something out of nothing be it fabric, food or home. Wherever she was there was beauty and good food. Kathy had an amazing ability to help others with her cooking/catering, and card reading, making many good friends. She enjoyed all this, family gatherings and curling! Kathy fed family and friends with her baking and preserves even till this past fall. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 26 years Malcolm “Mac”; children: Roxane Arno, Ronaye (Garrit) Wellington, David (Holly) McPhee; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; half sister Marj Hart. Stepchildren: Janine (Walter) Katelnikoff, Rita (Geoff) Squires, Ken (Miriam) MacIver; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Kathy was predeceased by father and mother Frank and Alice (Reynolds) Ross; first husband Stan McPhee; daughter Marine Perran; sister Almira (Les) Green; son-in-law Lawrence Arno, many in-laws. Kathy was born and raised in the Hanley area. Kathy and Mac started their life together in 1969. Over the years PA has been the hub of the wheel that has taken them from one coast to the other because of work or travel but always PA was home place. Wherever home was, it was transformed in an instant to a home that shouted Mac and Kathy, welcoming all! There was always love and acceptance for every member of the combined 7 children and their families that came to visit from near and far. We would like to thank the staff that cared for Mom at the Victoria Hospital, Home Care, Gray’s Funeral Chapel and all who have filled Moms life with friendship and care. At Mom’s request there will be cremation and a family gathering at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations in Kathy’s name may be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
