Evelyn Richards

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our much loved Evelyn Ada Richards.
Evelyn was born in Beatty, SK and raised on her parents’ family farm in Spruce Home, SK. She worked at the Prince Albert Sanitorium for many years before starting a family. She was married to Bill Richards in November 1959. They made their home in Prince Albert where they raised their two daughters.
Evelyn was well known for her giving ways. She had an incredible sense of humour, had friends of many ages and walks of life. She loved attending dances and enjoyed fiddle music. She especially enjoyed going on casino gambling bus trips and brought many friends along over the years. She was an immensely thoughtful person and always had a kind word or smile or hug for everyone. Evelyn was very socially active her whole life and loved people. She made everyone feel welcome, extended her generosity easily and was always so happy.
Evelyn held long term volunteer positions with the Girl Guides/Brownies and the Canadian Cancer Society. She was very devoted to her faith and active in the Calvary United Church.
She was born on November 9, 1936 and she passed away on December 7, 2020 in Prince Albert, SK. Evelyn was 84 years old.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband Bill; her daughters, Landa Richards and Darnella (Morris) Petruniak; her sister, Frances Aiken (Lloyd Forrest) and her brother, Billy (Wendy) Morrison.
She was predeceased by her brother, Bobby Morrison; her parents, Charles and Elsie Morrison and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Beattie.
A Private Service was held on December 12, 2020 at Calvary United Church in Prince Albert, SK, with a graveside ceremony and interment at Spruce Home Cemetery.
