Evelyn Kukac
1942 – 2023

Evelyn Lorretta Kukac late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 20, 2023, after just celebrating her 81^st birthday. Evelyn was born January 14, 1942, to Frank and Arlene George in Birch Hills, SK. Her father passed when she was a baby and her family moved to Prince Albert to be close to her grandparents and other family.

Evelyn met her future husband, Frank Kukac, when he was a border in their family home. Frank and Evelyn were married in October 1961, and enjoyed a happy and prosperous 43 years together before Frank’s passing in 2004. They experienced many happy times in their home in Prince Albert; camping at many lakes in northern Saskatchewan; and spending time with family and friends at their cabin in Candle Lake.

Mom did the books for Dad’s carpentry business for many years. As well, she worked part time enjoying the children at both the Tiny Tot Daycare and lunch time for supervision at Vincent Massey School.

Mom was a very creative and talented person, channelling that creative energy through many mediums over the years. Quilting and knitting or crocheting were her go-tos in the later years. Mom was generous and thoughtful with her creations always sharing baking, knit dish cloths and afghans with our family, friends and others important in our lives… and she always enjoyed a good craft sale!

Evelyn is Mom to 3 children, Susan (Murray), Cindy (Ed), and Dan (Charline). She is Mema to 2 grandsons, Connor (Kiersten) and Colin. She is also Great Wa to 3 great-grandchildren, Willow, Noah and Sydney. Great Wa learned to travel by air “on her own” at the age of 75 so she could visit the grandchildren in Calgary.

Mom will be sadly missed by her family, including nieces, nephews, and other extended family; special friends, Berniece and Norma; long time companion, Sugurr Bear; and furbaby grandchildren Deezle and Sami who have spent many hours babysitting Grandma.

The Funeral Service for Evelyn will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK.
