CRAWFORD, Evelyn (Sawula)
November 2, 1949 – May 25, 2023
With broken hearts we mourn the loss of our dear sweet Evelyn, a mother, a sister, an auntie, a friend, who left us suddenly on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the age of 73. She brought so much sweetness and joy to our lives. We ache for her warm hugs and the beautiful messages and cards she would send. Evelyn’s faith and belief in seeing her loved ones again, never wavered. Born and raised in Prince Albert, SK, she later worked many years as a bank teller at Scotiabank, all while raising and caring for her two girls and husband Isaac, at the farm near Northside. This city girl became a country woman seamlessly. An excellent cook, she also loved to bake for her family, was a talented seamstress and crocheted us many treasures. Evelyn’s love and strength for her family saw her through many challenging times, caring for her both her husband and daughter as they battled illnesses. In 2019, Evelyn moved to Trail, BC, to spend time with her “sister-sue”, to return back to Saskatoon a year ago to be close to her beloved daughter Jaime and her “sonny-boy” Marlin. We are so thankful to have had this loving time together. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, James and Verna Crawford, her daughter, Sheri Weinrich, her husband, Isaac Sawula, and two special brother-in-laws, Lyle McLennan and Mike Sawula. Those here to cherish her memory and mourn her loss are her daughter Jaime and son-in-law Marlin Korczak, her sisters Shirley McLennan and Bonnie (Dave) Lapierre, her sister-in-law Verna Sawula, and her in-laws Albert, Sharon and Ryan Korczak. Also, to mourn their Auntie are her very special nieces and nephews: Don (Kathy) McLennan, Bev (Rob) Messer, Kenny McLennan, Michelle (Trevor) Sawula, Michael (Lise) Sawula, Melissa Sawula, Jimmy (Amanda) Dennis. She also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews, family and friends, who will miss her dearly. All who loved her will never forget her kind, gentle soul. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon.
