Eva Joan Fox
November 2, 1920 – April 18, 2014
It is with great sadness the family of Joan Fox announces her passing on April 18, 2014 at the age of 93. Joan Fox (nee Eggleston) was born November 2, 1920 in Ottawa, the oldest child of George and Julia Maude (Mona) Eggleston. Joan moved to Prince Albert with her family at the age of 9 but moved back to Ottawa at the age of 13 to finish her education living with extended family. During her early years Joan did travelling to the US and returned to Prince Albert in 1939. Shortly upon her return she met Larry Fox and married in 1940. After marriage, Joan moved to Winnipeg with two other girls to await her husband’s return from the army. In 1943 Joan returned to Prince Albert and started work for Frank Helme at Prince Albert International Harvester dealer moving to an accounting position. In 1956 an opportunity arose for Joan to take a position with the D.N.R. working 26 years with the provincial government till her retirement in 1981. Joan lived in her own home until October of 2011 when due to health reasons she moved into The Good Shepherd Villas. Joan is survived by her son Gary (Nellie) Fox; daughter Lynda (Barrie) Ballantyne; granddaughters Wendy Linnell-Ross (J.R. John) & children Amanda and Jesse, Rhonda Bashnick (Kirby) & children Mitchell, Dylan and Courtney, Sha-Lyn Tichkowsky (Mark) & children Paige and Kyler, Krista Thompson (Jayson) & children Jessica and Ethan, and grandson Mark Ballantyne (Cheryl Mitchell). Also surviving are sister Fern (Bill) Wyman and sister-in-law Vi Eggleston; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband Larry in 1990; parents George and Julia Eggleston; brothers Brock Eggleston and Bruce Eggleston; and sister Shann Moreau. Private Family Interment will take place in Spring of 2014 at South Hill Cemetery where Joan will be laid to rest with Larry. Donations may be made to Prince Albert SPCA, P.O. Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9 or the Royal Canadian Legion, 133 – 8th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0V8. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Myriam Minier, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
