Eugene Alexander Henry
(August 19, 1948 – October 15, 2011)
With great sadness we announce the passing of Eugene “Geno” Henry at the age of 63. Dad was born August 19, 1948 in Prince Albert, SK and passed away October 15, 2011 in Edmonton, AB.
In mid September, 2011, Dad became seriously ill while working in Alberta. He was treated at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. Dad spent four weeks surrounded by his family as he bravely struggled to overcome his illness.
A few days prior to losing his battle, Dad received a visit from a few of his friends from work, which made him truly happy. It meant the world to him that they had taken the time to come and see him. Dad considered his co-workers family. They were a very important part of his life. We have heard a lot of work related stories about Dad in the last few weeks. It warms our hearts to know that he was loved and respected in the work place as much as he was loved and respected at home.
Geno is survived by his mother Teresa Henry-Larson; his son Trent (Sheryl) Henry and their children Preston and Seth; his daughter Tracey (Lawrence) Fiddler and their children Mikaila and Tanner; his wife Verna (Martens) Henry and her daughters Luanne Hardlotte, Sara Hardlotte and their children; his brother Fred (Lorna) Henry; his sisters Carol (Albert) Derosier and Della (Ron) Mysko; his god sons Darrell Derosier and Wilfred Henry; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends. He was predeceased by his father Wilfred Henry; his wife Marlene (Deschambeault) Henry; his step-father Sven Larson; his brother-in-law Mervin Deschambeault; his sisters-in-law Carol Deschambeault, Donna Hilgartner and Mary Henry; his mother-in-law Mary Deschambeault and numerous other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Crossroads Pentecostal Assembly, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Drive, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Shane Acorn officiating.
