Ethel was born on Sunday, December 19, 1948, to Leon and Sara Graham. She passed away November 19, 2025, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 76 years. Ethel is survived by her loving family, her son, little Billy (Lori) Mathers and their children, Riley (Cody), Shay, and Cassie; her daughter, Cherrie (James) Vermette and their children, Justin (Kayla) Quenton, Philip, and Hailey (Brennan); her daughter, Lorretta Markowski and her children, Nicholas and Aydan; her brothers, Jack Graham and Milton (Karen) Graham; her sister, Lucille (Sam) St Denis; her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Natalie, Lukas, Blair, Leland, Aria, William, Anna-Ray, Elizabeth, and Easton.
Mom was predeceased by her husband, William; parents, Leon and Sara Graham; stepdad, Edlore Paradise; brothers, Leo Graham, Jim Graham, and Roland Graham; and her sisters, Laverne Folkerson and Alice Graham.
Mom enjoyed sewing and spent many hours repairing rips and tears on blown out seams on pants or jackets for my brother to get one more winter out of. She was the go-to person when one needed cushions made for lawn furniture, dresses for weddings, or even just a button sewn back on. If you brought her something that needed a zipper, more than a few choice words were heard, but she would still get it repaired.
Mom enjoyed finding a bargain or just something unique and also enjoyed going to garage sales or thrifting to find that thing she could just not live without. She was not one to pass up a good bargain. She was always looking out for things her family indicated they liked or needed. It was rare to leave her house empty-handed as she always found something that she thought you would like.
Mom enjoyed the outdoors, although in her later years the sun became her enemy, she still found ways to enjoy the fresh air and listen to the sound of the water running in her pond. When spring came, she was excited to have uncle Milton and auntie Karen come over to clean and fill the pond for another summer.
Mom worked at Carnival bingo for many years; and made many very good friends there. She would always come home with a story to tell about what had taken place and all of us kids enjoyed the perks of her job. Years after she had retired, she would still tell us stories of the adventures she had in her bingo days.
Mom loved her family, she cherished the time spent with her siblings, kids, nieces, and nephews and grandchildren. The simplest things gave her the most joy. She loved it when one would show up, double-double in hand, to have a visit. Her door was always open to anyone who needed somewhere to go and the coffee pot was always on.
A Celebration of Ethel’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Nordale Community Hall, 1306 6th Avenue North West, Prince Albert, SK. A full obituary will be shared once available.
