It is with much sadness that we the family of our brother, Ernie Clare of Kamloops, BC share his passing on Jul 7 2026 at the age of 67 years.

Ernie was pre-deceased by our parents Art and Mabel Clare, many much loved Aunts and Uncles, our Grandparents and some cousins; our ancestors who have gone on before us. We know they were sitting around the campfire when he came sliding in with a big smile and his recognizable laugh.

Ernie would want me to mention that we lost our much loved sister-in-law, Sister, Audrey Clare the same day Ernie passed. Audrey probably waited around until Ernie was ready to go and they hit the campfire together surprising everyone.

Ernie is survived by two special people, Cassie Tessier and Leif Nyland who he loved and considered to be his children.

Also survived by brothers and sisters, Steve Clare, Whitehorse YT, Helen Burgess (Larry), Tweedsmuir, SK, Edgar Clare, Kamloops, BC, Karen Neu, Calgary, AB, Wanda Clare and Calvin Clare and many much loved nieces and nephews.

Ernie grew up on the family farm in Tweedsmuir SK.  He had a natural ability and skill set that covered carpentry, farming, operating heavy equipment and driving truck. Ernie finished up his varied work experiences driving truck as a West Coast Logger. Ernie was as tough as they come, he enjoyed his life and he was one of the bravest people many of us will ever know.

There will be a gathering at our parents grave site on the Little Red River Reserve on Aug 28,2026 at 10:00 am. (There will be signs).

Refreshments will be served at Helen and Larry’s farm at Tweedsmuir SK after the grave site gathering.
