Ernest “Ernie” Tremblay passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 25, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born in Flin Flon, MB to Narcisse and Pearl Tremblay (Bunka).

Ernie was a twin and came from a family of six children. He took most of his schooling in Gravelbourg, SK where he became bilingual and also took his first year of university. He then took three more years of schooling at the University of Ottawa where he got his B.Ed. and B.A. degrees. He taught school for a few years and then switched to adult education. He worked for the Prince Albert Regional Community College where he was a coordinator setting up classes for varying interests in the community and surrounding area. Today it is known as Sask Polytech. While at Gravelbourg he became interested in Army Cadets. He advanced and became a Lieutenant in the Cadet Services of Canada. He spent one summer in the militia as a personnel officer in admitting new recruits to several militia units in Ottawa.

In 1971 he married his wife Lorraine and they raised a family of three boys who were his pride and joy. He instilled in them many great values. His life was his family.

Ernie had so many interests and over the years has met and made many lifelong friends. He loved music and played the saxophone in the Prince Albert City Band, the Millennium Swing Orchestra, St. Mark Parish Choir and for the Roman Catholic Diocesan celebrations. He also volunteered at the weekly Sunday Mass at Mont St. Joseph Home. His family belonged to the East End Community Club where he coached minor hockey and played old timers hockey for the East End Old Timers and the East End Old Rangers. He spent 43 summers at Candle Lake at the cabin the family built. He taught his boys to waterski and to do every type of fishing. He encouraged them to do all kind of activities and to pursue their education. His greatest passion in his retirement years was fly fishing. He never turned down an opportunity to go fishing. He made many good friends in the Northern Waters Fly Fishers Club. He loved to teach anyone how to fly fish.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Chester), his sons Glen (Margaret) and Lorne (Kelsey), grandchildren Brooklyn and Mckinley, his daughter-in-law Joanne, grandchildren Paxton and Hunter, his brothers Alex (Susanne) and Edward, and his sister Elaine Pritchard.

He was predeceased by his son Brian, granddaughter Marie, grandson Charles, parents Narcisse and Pearl, brother Julius, sister Marie, brother-in-law Bill Pritchard, several nephews and nieces, and his in-laws Charles and Margaret Chester.
