Ernest Barry Jones

Barry passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon on Saturday, October 2, 2010 surrounded by his family. Barry was born in Regina on February 5, 1933 to Ernest and Mary Jones. He grew up across Canada in Regina, Halifax, Saskatoon and finally Prince Albert. He met his lifetime partner Hilda Pauls and were married on October 9, 1954. Together with his father and brother Gordon, they purchased Anderson Motors in 1955. Barry and Hilda raised three children in their present home in Prince Albert and in the summer at their cottage at Emma Lake. In his many years as a Prince Albert businessman Barry was involved in the Kinsmen Club being president in 1966-1967 and later in K-40. Barry retired from Anderson Motors in 1995 and was able to enjoy his retirement travelling, fishing at his lodge at McTavish Lake and many happy hours on his deck at the cabin. Barry was predeceased by his parents and his brother Gordon. He is survived by his wife Hilda; his son Tom (DeLee) & their children Catherine (Ryan) Liedtke, Andrew & Allison; his daughter Lorraine (Lyle) Campbell & their daughters Erin (Kevin) Lysak (sons Carter and Matthew), Jill (Scott) Sawyshyn (daughter Julia) and his son Ken; his sister Mary Ellen Jones; his sister-in-law Grace Jones and numerous, nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Dr. R.M.A. Sandy Scott officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Dialysis Unit, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4 or The Kidney Foundation of Canada, #1 – 2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 9Z9.
