Emily Wurtz

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Emily May Wurtz on May 2, 2015. Emily grew up in the Winton District, one of 15 children to William and Sevella Linfitt. She married Dan Wurtz in January of 1955. Dan and Emily made their family home in Prince Albert. They had three children Linda, Garnet and Lori. Emily was a hard worker at any job she held but will be most remembered as a dedicated caregiver to dozens of children who knew her as Grandma Em. Emily is survived by her two daughters, Lori Wurtz of Estevan and Linda (Bob) MacDonald of Prince Albert; her two grandchildren, Josh (Jess) MacDonald of Saskatoon and Kristen (Jason Ventnor) MacDonald of Saskatoon; her great grandchildren Cora Emily MacDonald and Theron William MacDonald; her sister Hilda Peterson of Prince Albert and numerous nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her son Garnet Daniel in 1982; her husband Daniel Jacob in 1999; her parents William and Sevella Linfitt and 13 brothers and sisters. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations to the Victoria Hospital Foundation or World Vision will be gratefully accepted.
