Emily Susan McKenzie was born on Saturday, July 15, 1939 in Fish River, SK and passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in La Ronge, SK at the age of 77 years. Emily is survived by her loving family, her sons Thomas W. Ratt, John James McKenzie and Alexander Edward McKenzie (Sally Bear), her daughters Caroline Susan McKenzie (Joe Cook), Molly L. McKenzie, Sally J. A. Roberts (Sam H. Roberts) and Irene T. M. McKenzie (Phillip Vanderkracht), her grandchildren Lizzie R. McLeod, Kelly M. Ratt, Riley R. McKenzie, Quinn M. McKenzie, Billy R. Charles, Sarah J. McKenzie, Shirley E. M. Charles, Matthew S. H. McKenzie, Celine L. E. Roberts, Samantha G. Roberts, Wade W. A. Roberts, Jonas H. J. Roberts, Robyn S. McKenzie and Nicole J. McKenzie, her great-grandchildren Lavina, Preston, River, Winter, Andrew Jr., Zaida, Trevor, Lilly, Seth, Myla, Raely, Philexander, Baylee, Creeson and Darius, her sister Peggy Ann (Mike) Tremblay, her brothers Amos T. Ratt (Flora Olsen), Cornelius Ratt (Kathy), Walter Ratt and Victor (Annie) Ratt, her sisters-in-law Gloria McKenzie, Sally Ratt and Margaret McKenzie, and her brother-in-law Noah Silas Bird. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Matthew McKenzie, her grandson Trevor McKenzie, her great-grandson Drake Charles, her parents John Abraham and Sarah Jane Ratt, her brothers Alex (Tina) Ratt, Roderick Ratt, Stanley Ratt, Richard Ratt and one in infancy, her sister Lillian, her grandparents Amos (Sally Halkett) Ratt and Amos (Rebecca McKenzie) Ratt, her nephew Richie Ratt, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Sandy (Emily) McKenzie, Solomon McKenzie, Richard McKenzie, Janet (John) Fieta, James McKenzie, Mary (Myles) Venne and Maggie Bird, and her aunts and uncles Joseph & Isabelle Ratt, Moses & Rosie Ratt, James & Amy Ratt, Myles & Victoria Ratt and Maggie & McIvor McKenzie. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017 and continued Monday, February 27, 2017 at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, SK. Emily’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the All Saints Anglican Church in La Ronge, SK, Reverend Richard Custer officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in La Ronge, SK.
