PODOLECKI, Emil “Moe” late of Prince Albert, born November 26, 1935. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, brother and uncle on January 20th, 2011, and now that you have been ushered into the embrace of heaven, and the sunshine of God's Love, we release you with a bitter-sweet mixture of joy and sorrow, to dwell forever in the place prepared for us by Almighty God. Emil “Moe” will be lovingly remembered by his wife Leona, son Christopher (Karen) of Chestermere, AB., daughter Pamela Podolecki of Saskatoon, SK., sisters Roseline (Jack) Cowan of Prince Albert, SK., Violet (Wilf) Savisky of Prince Albert, SK., brother Jim (Luci) Glabus of Prince Albert, SK., brother-in-law Dennis Karras (Joy) of Spy Hill, SK., sister-in-law Lorene(Wilbert) McLeod of Buckland, SK., brother-in-law Rodney (Dorothy) Tiegen of Nanaimo, B.C., also many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Moe was predeceased by his father Mike in l975, his mother Mary in 1995, his brother Ernest in 1996, his sister Elsie Karras in 2007, his father-in-law Arthur Tiegen in 1986 and his mother-in-law Eleanora Tiegen in 2001, his sister-in-law Olga Hayden in 1987, and his sister-in-law Mitzie Tiegen in 1994. Moe was very involved in his community over the years and a member of many organizations such as P.A. Royal Canadian Legion, P.A. A.C.T./U.C.T., P.A. Evergreen Good Sam RV Club, and the Candle Lake Snow Drifters. He was an avid sports follower and participant in fastball, hockey, as a player and coach, golf, snowmobiling and curling. He was a prize-winning wine maker, winning many awards at the P.A. Exhibition. Two of his favorite places were Candle Lake and Yuma, Arizona. Moe was employed in sales, service and trucking all his life, mainly with Goodyear, Canada, until building his own tire shop, Marquis Tire Ltd. in Prince Albert, with his partner Cliff Krivak. Moe was best known in his community for his razor sharp memory for people, places and events. The Funeral Service will be held at Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel on Monday, January 24, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Interment in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In memory of Emil “Moe”, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince Albert Parkland Hospice Palliative Care Association, Box 1711, Prince Albert, SK. S6V 5T3, and would be greatly appreciated by the family. Courtesy parking across from the funeral home.
