Emil Ballantyne was born on Friday, February 18, 1938 in Northwood Lake, SK and passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 78 years. Emil is survived by his loving family, his adopted daughters, Shirley (Russell) McCallum, Bianca Ballantyne, Bonnie, Ernestine, Shelly, Roxanne, Georgette and Bonita (Lyndon) Linklater, his adopted sons, Cory and Rob Zebrasky, his in-laws, Elaine (Howard) Bear, Susanne (Etteinne) Custer, Angus (Gladys) McKay, Charlie (Kate) McKay, William Ballantyne Sr. and Cecelia Ballantyne, his aunties, Sophie Custer and Veronica, his aunt and uncle, Fred & Margaret Ballantyne, his brother, Joe Ballantyne, his grandchildren, Nancy, Edna, Edward, Kendal, Kevin, Eldon, Katelyn, Elmer, Kayden, Kelvin, Nicole and Kara, his great-grandchildren, Mikisew, Michael, Nikisha, Greyson, Greg, Christina and Irene, and his godchildren, Jennifer Bear, Stella McKay, Fergus Linklater, Delores Linklater, Linda Michel and Priscilla Linklater, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Christina Ballantyne, his parents, Lionel and Charlotte Ballantyne, his in-laws, Joseph McKay, Walter McKay, Doreen McCallum, Elizabeth Linklater, Benjamin and Florence McKay and Malcom Sewap, his nephews, Danian J. Bear and William W. McCallum, his granddaughters, Baby Elizabeth, Amy C. Michel and Braydon, and his aunties and uncles, Harriet and Simon Linklater, Steve Ballantyne, Andrew C. Custer, Marie Bjornson, Annie Highway, Julianne, Celina and Marie Charlotte. A wake service will be held for Emil at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Emil’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Pelican Narrows, SK, Father Joseph officiating.
