Elsie Tadei
“Our Gift From God”
Elsie was a true friend to everyone she knew. She was a constant ray of sunshine in our lives. We will miss her bright smile, warm hugs, sense of humour, great visits over a cup of coffee, delicious meals and laughter.
The best gift our mum gave us was a traditional Swedish Christmas Eve. The meal was always the same: potato salad, Swedish meatballs, hard bread, rye bread, pickled herring, lox, anchovies, bruna benor, gjetost and deli meats. Our mum always said, “eat slow and eat lots”. Dessert would be coffee, pepperkoka and rice pudding with the “lucky” almond. Then it was time to open our Christmas gifts! Our best gift ever – was always our mum!
We invite you to a “coffee party” at Calvary United Church Hall, 114 25th Street East, Saturday March 24th starting at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Elsie asked that you take a flower to a friend, make a donation to your church or the Salvation Army.
