Elizabeth Marie Foster (nee Coreman), wife of Ralph Edward Foster, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the age of 83. Liz was born September 9, 1932 at Claresholm, Alberta. She is survived by: her husband Ralph; her brother Cornelius/Neil Coreman; her sister-in-law Dora (the late Don) Coreman; her son A.G. Bud (Linda) Foster; her four daughters Debra McMullen, Donna (Duane) McKay, Kelly Venance, Karen (Kevin) Duchscherer, her 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Liz was predeceased by: her parents, Marie Lucille Roy & Augustine Coreman; her siblings Leila (Rudy) Tronsgard, Donavon & Raymond (Patricia) Coreman. Growing up on the family farm near Stavely, Liz learned a strong work ethic and developed her talents in music and academics. She won acclaim for her garden plots and honours in high school academics. Liz devoted herself to the needs and wants of a busy and growing family, moving the family to each new location when transfers from the Air Force were required of Ralph to Red Deer, Alberta, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Cold Lake, Alberta. After retirement from the RCAF in 1977, they started farming in Prince Albert. A generous woman without guile, she was the central figure of her own family. In her quiet, unassuming approach to life’s most difficult problems, as well as through its many joys, her very presence created a warmth of love that was transmitted to all who surrounded her. Three years ago, due to progressive Alzheimer’s, Elizabeth moved to Mont St. Joseph where the staff, caregivers and volunteers became her new second family, providing such tender care and compassion. We are so grateful for all they did for Mom as well as for us as we journeyed through her last days together. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 452 – 30 Street East, Prince Albert. Interment in the Garden of Christus, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Donations in lieu of other tributes may be given to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan, 2550 – 12 Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, SK, 306 764-2727, Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director.
