Elizabeth Burkitt
With a great love and sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth (nee:Chiverton) Burkitt on March 6, 2012. Born in Lashburn, Sask on October 1, 1921, Beth was one of eight children born to Frank and Mary Chiverton. She married Wilf in 1941. Beth was a dedicated wife and mother who worked tirelessly with Wilf in all of their business ventures, from grocery stores to Greig Lake Resort to their famous yard sales. Beth enjoyed various crafts, but was most devoted to being gracious hostess and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her aim was to love everyone and be loved by everyone. Her hugs and smiles will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her son, Leonard (Sandra) Burkitt of Yarmouth, NS, her daughter-in-law, Nancy Hogue of Prince George, BC, her grandchildren: Travis (Sasa) of Greely, ON, Ryan (Peggy) of Dartmouth, NS, Krystol (Casey) Bell of Kentville, NS, Chantel (Richard) Barney of Eagen, MI, Eric (Denise) Hogue of Prince George, BC, 6 great grandchildren,her brother-in-law, Scotty Wiltermuth and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by: her parents Frank and Mary, her husband, Wilfred Burkitt, her son, Lee Burkitt, her siblings, Hettie (Percy) Burkitt, Annie (Howard) Tenney, Elsie (Ray) Tenney, Ethel (Don) Deans, Curly Wiltermuth, Tommy (Alice) Chiverton and George (Margaret) Chiverton
Funeral Service for Beth was held Monday, March 12th, 2012 ~ 2:00 pm Medstead Community Hall in Medstead, SK.
Final Resting Place will be in the Maidstone Cemetery, interment will be at a later date.
Memorial Donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
