Elaine Hay

Elaine Catherine Hay passed away peacefully on July 4, 2016 surrounded by her family at RUH in Saskatoon, SK. Elaine was borne February 24, 1961 in Stoney Rapids, SK; the youngest daughter of Patrice and Lucia Robillard.
Elaine thoroughly enjoyed the arts. A self-taught artist, she began sketching at a very young age. Singing also came naturally to Elaine; so many beloved memories involve her love of karaoke.
On June 20, 1977, Elaine married the love of her life, Andrew Lee Hay in Stoney Rapids. Teenagers when they met, their love only grew stronger during their 39 years of marriage. Soon after their marriage they moved to Uranium City, SK to start a life for them and their first-born, Katherine. In 1983, Elaine and her family moved to Scotland to live for a short time with her in-laws. In March of 1983, they moved back to Canada to bring a second child Ian into their lives; settling in Colonsay, SK for 18 years. Elaine aslo resided in Saskatoon, Rosthern, and most recently Canwood; with her husband over the past 17 years.
Elaine was a devoted and loving stay-at-home mother for many years. When her children were grown, she chose to pursue a career in education, graduating from the ITEP program at the U of S in 1995. Her giving and caring nature affected many young lives.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband: Andrew Hay; her children: Katherine Hay (Vern) and Ian Hay; siblings: Mary Jane Sayazie (Donald), Marianne Robillard (Richard), Ronald Robillard (Tina), Paul Robillard, and Lawrence Robillard; her mother-in-law: Ina Hay; her brothers-in-law: Gordon Hay (Susan) and Iain Hay (Fiona); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents: Patrice and Lucia Robillard; her brothers: Andrew, Joseph, and Norman; her sister: Mary Anne; her father-in-law: Ian Hay; and her grandparents.
A Prayer Service will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 – 2:00 pm at MacKenzie Chapel, 130 9th St. E., Prince Albert, SK. Wake commencing Sunday, July 10 – 11, 2016 at Fr. Porte Memorial Dene School. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 – 2:00 pm at Fr. Porte Memorial Dene School, Black Lake, SK. Interment at Halfway Cemetery, Stony Lake, SK.
