EILEEN “LEEN” GARNEAU
September 1, 1922
June 3, 2013
Leen passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Victoria Hospital. She was born to George and Catherine Wright of Sturgeon Valley where she was raised and attended Brant and Wild Rose schools. She married Ed Garneau and they had two sons Murray and Terry. They resided in Briarlea, moved to Crutwell where she worked at the store and post office, then back to Briarlea until she moved to Prince Albert. She was predeceased by her husband Ed; her son Murray; her parents; her three brothers Jack (Fern), Herb (Ann), Willie (Pauline) and her sister Dood (Wilf) Garneau. Leen is survived by her devoted son Terry; her daughter-in-law Vickie; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leen enjoyed music, watching curling, playing cards, a good cup of coffee or vodka and her cigarettes, travelling to BC, the States and Whitehorse. She will be dearly missed for her sense of humor, laughter and her comebacks. Thank you to Pat’s Care Home and Nelson’s Care Home for the excellent care given to mom. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Reverend Rick Martin will officiate. Interment will take place in the Briarlea Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kadziolka, Funeral Director
