Edward Gordon Federenko
On March 6, 2012 Ed Federenko passed away at the Victoria hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Ed was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan. He was the only son of John and Martha Fedorenko (Boyko). He grew up on a farm south of Blaine Lake, moving to P.A. in 1946. He attended Queen Mary School and PACI. In 1959 Ed began his career as a Ford parts manager at Arcade Motors Co. and remained at that position until his retirement in 1999. He is survived by his wife Norma; children Lynn (Bruce) Junker (Troy and Jocelyne); Lyle (Melanie) Federenko (Ryan and Scott); Garvin (Alice) Federenko (Kailyn and Whitney); Glenn Federenko; Brad Federenko; sister Gladys Toth; aunt Doris Barentsen; brother-in-law Bert Hertzberg and uncle Maurice Aley (Lendra and Brenda). Ed was predeceased by his parents John and Martha (Boyko) Fedorenko; brother-in-law Gordon Hertzberg and numerous aunts and uncles. Retirement was enjoyed by traveling, especially to the U.S to visit family and friends. He also enjoyed doing yard work and enjoying coffee time with neighbors. Sports was another pleasure by playing hockey and softball in his younger days. His Prince Albert Jacks softball team was inducted into the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. His children shared his love of sports by participating in many activities. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012. Both services will be held at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert. SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4.
