Edna Salen

November 5, 1937-November 22, 2025

The family of Edna Salen is sad to announce the death of their mother.  Edna was born to John and Mary Popov in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, one of 6 children.  She grew up in a family rich in Ukrainian and Russian heritage and traditions.  She married Roy Salen, and from this union, there were 4 children, who were all raised on the farm in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan.

Edna lived her final years in Prince Albert and is survived by her children, Mitchell (Pamela) Salen and his children, Maxwell and AJ Salen;  Warren (Janette) Salen and his children, Tanya (Mike) Kolich, Tabitha (Mark) Svaren, Matthew Salen (Shawncy Gavelin), Lindsay Dallman (Shaw Dunn), and Mike (Mackenzie) Dallman; Lani (Alan) Scragg and their children, Ryan Scragg (Shannon Urbaniak), Kelly (Megan J.) Scragg; Colleen (Rod) Kitter and their children, Adam (Alex) Kitter and David Kitter (Delisle Lazarenko); her sisters, Gladys Salen and Dianne Pogue; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and John Popov; her sister, Violet Vaughan; her brother, Lorne Popov and his wife Jean; her sister and brother-in-law, Angeline and Andrew Hammand, and their children, Linda, Renee and Dale.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, 300B – 300 Marquis Road West, Prince Albert, SK, followed by lunch.  Interment of ashes will take place in the summer of 2026.  For those unable to attend the service, there will be a live stream link provided.
