Edna Rudichuk
November 1, 1919 – May 26, 2011
On May 26th, Edna returned to the arms of Edward, her one true love. Once again, they are dancing to their favourite song “Somewhere My Love.”
Edna was born on November 1, 1919 in the Bonne Madone district to Bennoni and Delia (Dessereaux) Trombley. At the tender age of nine, she lost her mother. At the age of twelve, she left school to keep house for her father, brothers, and little sister.
On November 25, 1938, she married Edward Rudichuk. They ran a store in Bonne Madone before moving to Reynaud to run the Co-op bulk fuel station. They worked as a team, running the business and farming. Together, they raised three children- Bernadine, Daryl, and Janice. They moved to Wakaw in 1978, where they lived out their golden years.
Edna always loved to sing and dance. She was loving and caring and full of mischief if the opportunity presented itself. She rose above the difficulties of her early years and was a pillar of strength for her family.
In life, she taught us how to live and through her illness and death, she taught us how to accept life’s fate. Her ever present smile stayed with her until the end.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward, of 52 years in 1991, her brothers Jack and Kenneth, and her sisters Cecilia, Mildred, Leona, and Arlene.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Ray (Eleanor), her sisters-in-law Magda Burechailo and Helen Kozak, her three children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren:
Bernadine Rudichuk (Neil McLeod) and their children Davin and Kerr.
Daryl (Judy) Rudichuk and their children Burke (Richelle) and Alyssa (Tony).
Janice (Alvin) Chomyn and their children Lindsay (Scott) and Carter.
Beloved great-grandchildren: Jaedyn, Hunter and Fauna Rudichuk, and Kai Wong.
At Edna’s request, there will be no funeral service; a private family inurnment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge, Wakaw, SK would be appreciated. The family expresses their gratitude to the healthcare professionals who treated her with special kindness. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service. Wakaw, SK. 233-4403
Mom, may you enjoy your eternal reward and, in your own words that we heard so often,
“So Far So Good.”
