It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Edith “Edie” Mary Anne Krawec on June 25, 2020. Edie was born in Prince Albert, SK, to John and Rose Studer. She is the youngest of three children. Edie married John, in 1966 in Prince Albert, where they have resided ever since. Edie had two children, and has made some of her fondest memories with her four grandchildren.
Edie began her career as a lab technician at the Victoria Union Hospital before moving to the Associate Medical Clinic. Edie worked at the Associate Medical Clinic for 44 years. Edie took great pride in her work, but mostly cherished the relationships she had with the doctors and staff that she worked with each day. Edie reluctantly retired in 2011, and after a short break returned to work at her friend’s accounting firm. When not working she loved lunch dates, coffee and spending time with friends and family. Edie lived each day with purpose, selflessly dedicating herself to her family and others.
Edie is survived by her husband of 53 years John Krawec; daughter Laurie (Brad) Impey, grandsons Tarren and Ty (Kendra); son Kevin (Chella) Krawec and grandchildren Cruz and Vincenza; brother Fred (Barb) Studer; brothers-in-law Bill (Faye) Krawec, Orest (Darlene) Krawec, Paul Krawec and sisters-in-law Mary Peake and Pat Studer. Edie was predeceased by her father John Studer, mother Rose (Parent) Studer, in-laws Stefan Krawec and Josephine (Moskwa) Krawec and her brother Gene Studer.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the Royal University Hospital. In these uncertain times, the staff and nurses worked with compassion to ensure that even in the absence of her family she was afforded comfort, dignity and the utmost care.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Private Family Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edie may be made to Rose Garden Hospice Association, Box 2092, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 5R3.
